Claire Bennet Vs. Jesus Christ
Summary of the journey of Claire’s character.
Claire in Season 4 in the slaughter house.
(12)
Not an episode goes by where Claire Bennet doesn't get injured in some way or another. The first time we see her, she's jumping off an oil rig, her cheerleader uniform already bloody from her other attempts to see if she stays dead. We find out that she wants to keep this ability hidden because of her fear that her adoptive parents will regret adopting her if they find out she isn't normal. One of the first heroic acts we see her do is pull a man out of a burning train, saving his life. Even though she is one of the youngest heroes, we are introduced to, her path always seems clear. She doesn’t come forward when they try and identify her as the girl who was in the fire. In Season 2 she finds out her blood, when injected into others will heal them of anything that does not involve living tissues or cells. (If her blood is injected into a person with a tumor her power will simply cause the tumorous cells to multiple and growth at a rapid speed and result in a quick and painful death). She tells Bob Bishop, the man who told her this tidbit about her blood to take it all, she wanted to help people. In Season 3 she is given a free pass by Nathan to keep her safe from building 26. However due to her freedom she is asked by Rebel to help other people like her. She does this, knowing that if she is caught it would mean her death, one that will last. Claire tries to live a normal life by heading off to college in Season 4 sadly this doesn’t last long as her first room flings herself from their window and falls to her death. Then she meets a nice regular normal (even if slightly obsessed with Claire) girl and they become friends, until someone tried to make it look like she wants to do a murder suicide pact with Claire. Luckily Claire finds out the truth and shared her ability with Gretchen who ends up being a huge help for Claire in both an emotional and physical way. 14

Little Miracle
13
15 Through the graphic novel which is available to read through the NBC website, Hell’s Angel, we see how Claire ended up with the Bennett’s and why Sandra refers to her as their little miracle. During a “bag and tag”mission Noah and Claude break into Meredith’s apartment where she end ups blowing up from finding out that there was an invisible man sneaking in. Eighteen month old Claire should have died from all the smoke that she inhaled but even at the young age her rapid cell regeneration was in effect. It is also mentioned that she doesn’t get sick in Eclipse part 2. When she cuts her hand off a bookcase by the next day her hand is completely healed no trace of the numerous stiches that were needed. 16

Ted Sprague and Matt Parkman break into the Bennet home, trying to find out what her father Noah Bennet did to them, due to the fact that they believe he gave them their powers. Ted is seeking revenge on Noah and sees that the only way to get even with him is to seek justice in the biblical sense, which would be to kill Noah’s wife, since he lost his own. During this however Noah and Claire are both screaming mentally at Matt (a telepath) to shoot Claire because she can heal thus saves her mother’s life. She also goes into their home to stop Ted from exploding and blowing up the entire city, when she exits the house, she is at first a burnt skeleton with a few pieces of flash and then heals to a normal, if not slightly burned hair version of herself within seconds.
The Dark Side of Claire
In season three we get a glimpse of the evilness that lurks inside Claire. She is working for Pinehearst believing that what she is doing (killing ‘criminals’) is for the good of the world, trying to make it a better and safer place. She believes Peter is evil, despite the fact that he saved her life on a few occasions, she decides to kill him even though it is hinted that Nathan and Peter are the only family she has left in this future. She succeeds in killing Peter (future), and cashes Peter (present) to Costa Verde where Sylar is living in her old home with her family dog Mr. Muggles. She tells Peter right before she pulls the trigger that she always loved him. We see that even though time has made her cold as well as death and just plain growing up, she still sees her uncle as her hero who saved her when she was fifteen and running for her life from a evil guy who wanted to cut her head open and poke at her brain (which he did two years later, which also lead to the changes in her ability and mind set). Once she loses her ability to feel pain she starts to question if she still has a soul and what else might she lose.17
Her Journey To Fame and Power as a True Hero
When the show started Claire was the girl everyone needed to save. Save the cheerleader save the world. She was meant to be the missing piece in the puzzle that saved countless of lives. We see how she is developed by the protectiveness of her family and friends. We watch her grow as she learns how to defend herself, we see her crack under the pressure and start killing people including her uncle who died saving her. Finally the last time we see her she is making this Brave new world, she dies after jumping off a Ferris wheel broadcasting her jump across the nation if not world. She died so other’s like her would not be casted in the shadows of fear and doubt, then like Jesus she too raised from the grave, three seconds later.
