Religion in the show
Mohinder (24)
It’s to have a show about people with super powers, most of them in the United States, without a mention of God at the least. Some people of course would give God credit for the gifts they have, others will simply thank evolution. Within the first few minutes of the show Mohinder speaks of God creating man in his own image and says that God must see us as cockroaches and human kind isn’t worthy of God’s image until it evolves. They even name the first episode Genesis after the first of the five Law books of Moses. This can be attributed mostly to his Jewish faith and upbringing as he was a main writer.
Mohinder mentions religion often in the series possibly the most out of all the characters, which is ironic because he is one of the first“good” guys to go mad with power and kill, he also mentions that Earth is so large you can trick yourself into thinking you can hide from God. 27

Adam Monroe
Adam Monroe healing from a gunshot wound to the chest (26)
Adam Monroe thought he was a god due to the fact that he couldn’t die (except for head wounds). He thought it was his mission to
correct the flaws in humanity. He even tells another character that “Only gods lived as I do.” He started off as a hero, who saved villages in ancient Japan then when Hiro fell in love with the same girl as Adam, and she felt the same for Hiro, the betray Adam felt was compared to the betray of Judas and swore that as long as he lived he would make Hiro feel the pain that he caused him. Linderman thought Adam was a God and was mockingly called his disciple. 27
